It is no secret that fentanyl and methamphetamine (meth) are some of the most addictive and dangerous drugs to ever exist. Many readers will have seen the billboards posted declaring “Fentanyl: Sonoma County’s Silent Killer.” Fentanyl can cause overdoses in amounts as small as the tip of a pencil and can cause nausea and vomiting.
Meth is almost as dangerous, being incredibly addictive and harmful. It can cause an increased susceptibility to bacterial infections and cardiac issues later in life.

Recently, two major fentanyl and meth dealers in Sonoma County were arrested by the Sheriff’s Department and the DEA on federal warrants. Marco Hernandez of Rohnert Park and Robert Strzelecki of Santa Rosa were arrested, and searches of their homes revealed 11 pounds of fentanyl and 3.5 pounds of meth. Strzelecki is currently on bail, and no detention status for Hernandez has been reported.
Additionally, another person was recently arrested by police on drug related charges. Angelina Gutierrez, who had a warrant out of Mendocino County, was pulled over on a traffic stop. The deputy conducted a K9 sniff of the vehicle and found 10 pounds of meth distributed in dog treat boxes. Gutierrez is currently on bail.
These drug busts may save lots of lives as this may be just the reminder many addicts need to take steps towards recovery.
