Club Rush for the 2024-2025 school year was a huge success. There was a wide variety of clubs with different topics and backgrounds, both returning and new.
One of the biggest clubs at Technology High School, which has been around for over 20 years, is the GSA, also known as the Gender and Sexuality Alliance. This club is a place for the LGBTQIA+ community at Tech High to meet and socialize. This is one of the most important clubs for representation, along with the Asian Heritage Club and Hispanic Culture Club, with both celebrating their culture and traditions.
Another popular club is the Robotics Team, which challenges other schools with the battle bots they learn to create. A similar group is the STEM Club, which competes against other members of the club by making different projects each month. Another group specializing in competition is the Debate Team, which hosts disputes against each other in order to challenge intellect.
A new club that had a surprising amount of popularity this year was the Cookie Tasting Club, with almost 100 members. This could be because they gave out cookies as an incentive for joining their group at Club Rush. Because of their popularity, the club had a swarm of people eating cookies outside the B wing at their first meeting. A similar idea was made by the MentaliTEA club that drinks hot beverages and discusses mental health, while the Films For Those With Incredible Taste Club watches a different movie each week voted on by the organization members.
There are many clubs that pursue sports such as wrestling and basketball. Another club that does physical activities is the Ping-Pong club that meets in the MU every Monday. Another sporty club is the Mountain Bike Club, which loves to cycle through all sorts of terrain outside of school.
There are over 30 clubs this school year, with returning groups including the Medical Club, the Math Club, and the Multicultural Cuisine Club. Some new clubs include the Spirit Squad, the Study Club, the Astronomy Club, and the Entrepreneurship Club. All of the clubs this year are wonderful for both the school and the members who joined, and hopefully Tech High will be able to see the impact each of them makes for the community.
